Safe Launch Inspector Calumet City
Kay Manufacturing Company provides value-added precision machining services of forged material to domestic automotive subassemblies on a high-volume production basis. We are currently looking for a Safe Launch Inspector/Packer at our Calumet City facility. Functions
- Handles steel parts wearing gloves.
- Maintains a safe and clean work area.
- Certifies and carefully repacks products per instruction.
- Maintains the traceability of all suspect parts found, to the box and skid they came from.
- Identifies and segregates all suspect parts found, and places on the suspect parts table in proper location.
- Identifies and communicates any quality problems to the appropriate Quality Engineer.
- Enters data from each skid, prior to starting the next skid.
- Performs other associated responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Safety awareness, team player attitude
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read a minimum of 6 pt font held at arm’s length.
- Ability to understand and read English
- Minimum age 18 years.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measurement
- Possess basic computer skills
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee frequently is required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
The employee must regularly lift and move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
